3. AC/DC '00 - Yokohoma Civic Arena, Japan
4. Metallica '97 - Biloxi Mississippi Civic Center
5. Black Sabbath '99 - Virginia Beach, VA
6. Page/Plant '98 - Pensacola Civic Center, FL

BEST VENUE TO SEE A SHOW - Pensacola Civic Center, which seats 8,000. I saw KISS, Page/Plant (fourth row!), and many others.

METAL MEMORIES - Ripper Owens hitting the high notes on "Victim of Changes", KISS Concert in Ft. Worth, when R. Paul's car got towed!!! ...and Motley Crue/Scorpions at Starplex with the Brothers of Metal. It is important to note that Bresnahan organized the event, yet was unable to attend do to domestic issues at that time related to his eventual (and current) wife.

OTHER THOUGHTS - It is without a doubt that Black Sabbath set the standard in the late 1960's and early 1970's for all other metal bands to follow. Sure, there have been some great albums from some great metal bands since Sabbath (G & R, METALLICA, etc.) but none can claim to be the first. What amazes the mind is that this band continues to draw crowds today, much like they did 30 years ago. The true mark of any band is its ability to appeal to audiences throughout time. Black Sabbath has done this, and will continue to do this until they can no longer be rolled out on stage in their wheelchairs. If you listen closely, you can hear the wizard walk by, spreading his magic...

-DILLON REID--

I have about three or four favorite bands, but at the moment I think it is LA GUNS. These guys after 13 years of grinding it out on LA's sunset strip, are still kicking as much ass as they did when they first began. They celebrated an acclaimed top 4O hit with "Ballad of Jayne" in the late 80's which put them on the map . . . but like many of their peers, they quickly fell off into the dark abyss of worn out hair bands as grunge rock took over. The Guns kept grinding it out during the 90's by releasing several CD's and experimenting with various sounds and line ups. The Millinium approached, and real rock n roll finally was coming full circle. The Guns understood this, reformed their original line up, and released their 2001 album "Man in the Moon," one of their best to date. Perserverence, longevity, and noble musicianship are fitting words for what the Guns represent. . . But the haunting vocals of Phil Lewis combined with the Hendrix-like poetry from Traci's Guitar is what makes them stand above all others. WDR

MY TOP FIVE METAL ALBUMS
1. Guns -n- Roses/Appetite for Destruction

-BRIAN J. MILLER-

I believe that Appetite for Destruction is the single greatest compilation of music ever assembled. Inasmuch as this statement might startle some readers, it is, nonetheless, fact. Indeed, there are those who would seek to destroy my credibility on this issue; and, time and time again, they find themselves unarmed in ensuing discourse. That is to say, they seem to feel the strange sensation of having placed their Genetalia upon the surface of Torn Earth, and of finding their Fist placed securely within the Rectum of a Mule.
